Description
From c.1884 Henry Barrington "Tim" Tristram. One of the greatest C19th all-round sportsmen took part in England's 1st home international rugby match in 1883. Thereafter, he was known for his cricket as well as his England rugby performances. During his international rugby years, 1883-1887, he was said to be one of the best full backs who played for the English XV! An exceedingly rare card! Plain back but probably by W.N. Sharpe of Bradford. See the supporting photo of the England XV from march 1884. He is circled in red.
