Description
*may NOT be rugby - the early card manufacturers did not know which teams were association and which clubs had rugby-football playing teams. Briggs was based in a sweets shop based 100 miles away, making cards for all the teams they could but not necessarily using the correct designs. Maybe they guessed wrongly with this card - soccer not rugger? Blue hoops were the Boro kit of the early 1880s. This card dates from around 1884-85 and may even be earlier. It could be your one chance to get a Middlesbrough card made by BRIGGS from 1880.
