From 1887 (series dated by other players in it) One of the legends inscribed on the ASHES URN, this is cricketer Dick Barlow, one of the cricketers in the 1st Test Match played by England. He also played for Lancashire CCC Believed to be by W.N. SHARPE this very rare early cricket card is 1 of only 2 known worldwide! Barlow took part in the original Ashes test match and is commemorated in the poem pasted on the side of The Ashes urn:
"When Ivo goes back with the urn, the urn;
Studds, Steel, Read and Tylecote return, return;
The welkin will ring loud,
The great crowd will feel proud,
Seeing Barlow and Bates with the urn, the urn;
And the rest coming home with the urn"
