See the supporting photo from a Burnley newspaper 1885 talking of how good a player Frank was, gold & silver medals, a game changing player!

Also, see the excerpt from the book by W.G. Grace, written in 1899, which puts Frank Sugg up 2nd in Grace's greatest!

This Frank Sugg card is from the same series as the noted W.G. Grace (sold for some thousands and  since slabbed by SCG). This is an 1888 British-made card can be dated to 1888 by the inclusion of Reverend Napier, for Lancs.,  in the same series. Napier only played 2 matches for  for Lancashire, both in mid 1888)-  and also by the source: it came from a scrapbook which had been started in "1886", the date written on the frontispiece ( page 1) had been inscribed by the scrapbook's keeper; and similarly end-dated "1888" at the back of the book, by the same hand. The card itself is believed to be one of the very first cards made by W.N. Sharpe, of Bradford.

Frank Sugg 1888 when he played for Lancashire CCC - and Everton. He'd also played for Bolton Wanderers, Burnley and was captain of Sheffield Wednesday and captain of Derby County.
